Inspired by the mysterious old grimoires of witches and spell keepers, this wonderfully peculiar one-of-a-kind mug looks as though it might have wandered straight from the shelf of a very old — and slightly questionable — magical library.
Rochelle has worked an enormous watchful eye directly into the warm, earthy clay, surrounding it with raised bands, hand-incised markings and wonderfully irregular details that give the piece the appearance of an ancient spellbook brought to life. A blue-grey iris peers outward from the centre, while the naturally speckled clay and softly aged finish make the mug feel like a curious little relic from another time.
Handmade by Rochelle of Imagine That Pottery in Kelligrews, NL, this is a particularly special piece for lovers of witches, old spellbooks, magical curiosities and all things just a little strange.
